Book 1
The Gravitational Catapult
How to Reach Space Simply
The main objective is to send vehicles into space. To escape Earth’s gravity, a large amount of energy is required for vertical-takeoff rocket engines to reach space. A conventional aircraft cannot reach space because it cannot achieve sufficient speed with its engines, and the rarity of air at high altitude prevents them from functioning or its wings from supporting it.
After discovering repulsive gravitational waves, an idea came to Jonathan’s mind. Why not equip a large cargo aircraft, such as a Boeing 737 or Airbus A340, with a gravitational wave emitter on its back, fly it at an altitude of 15 km, then pass another flying vehicle (such as a Carryall) underneath it and use the gravitational waves to propel it into space?
